The lodge meets each Thursday at 7:30 PM  The lodge did own a building in downtown Martinsville.  Recently they sold the building, but rent space on the third floor where they continue to meet.  The lodge also owns property in a rural area  They share their building with Martinsville Temple of the Pythian Sisters and a DOKKes Tempe.

·            Patrick Henry Lodge #82 held it’s annual picnic recently and presented awards after the meal. Richard and Betty Reffett cooked for the event and many people brought desserts. 90 people attended the event. Members of the Lodge provided music. Bill Rotenberry and Mike Spears played guitars and Ralph Draper joined them on the spoons. Everyone had a good time. S.T. Fulcher, Jr. who is a past Supreme Representative awarded a 50-year life membership pin and certificate to John Mize. The Pythian of the year was also presented and it went to Grady Meeks who is also the District Deputy Grand Chancellor for the Western District. Past Grand Chancellor Mike Thornton, committee chairman, presented the award to Meeks. Thornton also awarded a 50-year pin and certificate to Jacob Lewis later, at his home.

·             The Lodge has taken in two new members. Henry Hall has obtained the rank of Knight and Chuck Zook has been initiated into the rank of Esquire. David Isley was voted in as the Outer Guard for the Lodge.

·             Imperial Representative Mike Thornton and wife Yvonne traveled to Westlake Ohio for the Imperial Convention in August. The Dramatic Order Knights of Khorrasan convention was attended by DOKK’s from across the country and Canada. The Supreme Chancellor David Mead and his wife Nancy were also there.

·             In late August, Tommy Fain, Jay Slate, Fulcher and Thornton traveled to Norfolk for the annual Golf Tournament and Fun Day. Beach Lodge sponsored the tourney and provided the meal for Friday night and Charity Lodge was sponsor of the picnic on Saturday.

·             The Lodge voted to donate $100 to the Bobby Riggs Memorial Motorcycle ride to be held in Virginia Beach, since the ride is yet to be held we donated the money to Camp Holiday Trails. We also voted to sponsor a hole at the cost of $100 for the Mike Wilson Memorial Golf tournament to be held at Lynnwood Golf course. Wilson was a member of the Lodge who died last year. Several teams had members from PH #82. Mike Scaffidi’s team shot a 57, but didn’t place in the Championship flight. Mike and David Thornton’s team won the 2nd flight at 4 under.

·             The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts have used the Pythian property for events during the summer. The events include camporees, merit badge outings, leadership workshops and campouts. Several members are Scout leaders and have taken roles in the Lodge.

·             The Pythian of the month for July was David Isley, for August Tommy Fain and for September it was Henry Hall.
